It's been a long time since I've written a blog post! I can't believe how much has happened since my last one. I have completed my general education student teaching and absolutely loved my 2nd graders until the last second of the day. They still stick with me when I get frustrated or angry with trying to figure out how to do a lesson, I might look at one of the awesome pictures they gave me. I also have started my special education student teaching and only have 5 out of 10 weeks left. It's been quite a whirlwind! I have really connected to the high schoolers so far and they have been very respectful towards me as well. I enjoy the different teaching style that is brought out in high school special education, and it really is not what I expected. I also never thought in a million, billion, trillion lightyears that I would want to be a special education teacher, but I have accepted an elementary position as an LD teacher when I'm done student teaching. I could not be more thrilled to be working for an incredible district upon my completion and I could not be more excited to begin! Not only for the students, but this girl needs some paychecks!!!
I am slightly drowning in school work and student teacher work, but I am still plugging away at my courses. I also have been checking out graduate schools and really debating whether I want to take a year off or just get right into the swing of it. (I'm leaning towards applying this fall.) I am so excited! :) SLP HERE I COME.
